Sasha started spinning in 2009 and knew she'd be a lifelong spinner when she encountered raw fleece for the first time. Since then, she's taken classes with many of North America's leading spinning teachers and even hosted a spinning podcast. She believes that spinning is one of the best forms of mindfulness practice there is—and that mindfulness just may save the world.
Sasha founded Sheepspot in 2014 to share her passion for unusual sheep breeds and their wool with inquisitive handspinners eager to enrich their spinning lives with exceptional, ethically-produced materials.
As a lifelong teacher, she's driven to provide her customers not only with gorgeous hand-dyed wool, but also with the knowledge and skills they need to spin beautiful yarns from her products right out of the gate. The Sheepspot Studio is a natural extension of Sheepspot's mission to offer beautiful fiber as well as accessible information and supportive spinning instruction.
Sasha lives in London, Ontario with her husband Matthew and three extremely spoiled cats. She loves the ocean, really good vanilla ice cream, and weekend afternoons in winter.
